Harlem stretches from the East River west to the Hudson River between 155th Street; where it meets Washington Heights—to a ragged border along the south.

Harlem is a place where Negros began their culture movement called "Harlem Renaissance"

Harlem music
Harlem stride style is the new way to play the piano and it was created in Harlem Renaissance. The traditional jazz compose some new instruments.  It was really popular and spread out to Harlem. I think the most important meaning of this new music style is it helped to erase the line between poor Negros and socially elite Negros.

Sooner, this music style attract white people.  many white people started to notice African American music.  Because this, Negros and whites began to "combine."
