Jim Crow Laws

The Jim Crow laws has existed in the United States of America between 1876 and 1965. The Jim Crow laws defined what many U.S. citizens felt to be "separate but equal" treatment for African Americans. Some examples of Jim Crow Laws are the segregation of public schools, public places and public transportation, and the segregation of restrooms and restaurants for whites and blacks people. Jim Crow laws first appeared after the Civil War and it separated Arican Americans from the rest of the white population.

After 1945, the Civil Rights Movement, United States has risen and the black people used the federal laws to stand against the Jim Crow laws. One of example was the Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, in 1954, which was ended the racial segregation in public school. Then the United States Congress in 1964, got through the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, effectively ending the Jim Crow laws. The Jim Crow laws formally went into history.

  3. I like when you talking about,How the U.S. Citizens discriminated the black people. A they put everything separate between blacks and whites.
he's the first appeared after the Civil War when the African separate from the rest white population.
My opinion is why this people at this time, the people was RACIST, because everybody have the same rights; doesn't matter the skin color or ethnicity or your language, because in the EYES OF GOD WE ARE ALL EQUAL and is absurd what happened before.
My question is Why they calling the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT?.
